The Slave River Guild is a strong, well organised criminal organisation. While slavery is what they are best known for, the Guild has fingers in numerous nefarious pies. It is led by a group of highly intelligent monsters that manipulate various other species into doing the dirty work, whether through promises of money or carnage. Many would believe that the different species means that the Guild is a powder keg just waiting to erupt, but so far so good…
The Guild doesn’t put much value in its underlings, save for the fact that they are a means to an end. The tendency, therefore, is to supply them with sturdy, serviceable equipment, but nothing fancy. Rather, the focus falls on tactics and strategies for strengthening and enriching the Guild, even if it costs a few goblins and bugbears to do so.
While the Guild is very powerful and well established, it is also fairly loose-knit. Underlings don’t know much, save from who they get their direct order from, and even mid-level “management” have no idea of the powers behind the Guild.
The Slave River Guild is equal parts shadowy, secretive, bold and daring. It will launch blatant raids on villages, openly capturing slaves and looting… but these slaves and stolen goods disappear very quickly. Fighting the Guild at the lowest levels would be a simply matter of violence, but the higher it gets, the more difficult that fight would become.
